How should I remove concrete splashes from coated / prepainted metal sheeting?

Mortar splashes from bricklaying operations are rarely a direct cause for concern. However, Aluminium and coating containing Aluminium [e.g. GalvalumeĀ® and its other brands] should not be immersed in wet cement, as rapid corrosion and degradation of the alloy structure will quickly occur. Should splashing occur, the concrete should be removed immediately. Dry concrete is difficult to remove without damaging the surface coatings. A few small splashes are unlikely to cause significant damage to the surface. However warranties do not cover failure of product in such circumstances.
