Rags used to wipe listed (LINK) solvents can be used and reused without any special storage. Rags containing some solvents (methanol, xylene, methyl isobutyl ketone, butanol, ether, ethyl acetate, ethyl benzene) can be discarded when used up and dry. Spent rags used to wipe other solvents (toluene, methylene chloride, trichloroethylene, benzene, methyl ethyl ketone, 11,1,-trichloroethane, plus many others) must be collected and stored as hazardous waste.
