How should I go about starting an exotic animal business?
I own my own small exotic animal, reptile and exotic bird breeding business. I have over 260 species of critters, and let me tell you it’s a full time job. If you think that you are going to get into this thing and make a bunch of money you are sadly mistaken, you should look at it more as a hobby that SOMETIMES pays for itself. Your first step is to find a location, preferably with a house out in the country, with its own well that flows at a minimum of 15 gallons per minute (you will need A LOT of water, and its MUCH cheaper to not be on city water) the second thing you need to look for is zoning regulations and restrictions. For instance in Texas (where I live) you can basically have anything you want from a ape to a zebra as long as you live outside of the city, in the county and own a exotic animal permit (cost you like $65/year no application process sold where ever fishing license are sold) if you are going to get BIG as you so seem to want to do, I would suggest that you marry,
