If it still works, bring it to a charity shop or something! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You help others by it AND it’s environmentally friendly as the appliances don’t get thrown onto the trash heap. Oh, and depending on where you live, some electronics shops offer a discount off new appliances if you bring in the old ones (they do here in Belgium: I got a 50 euro phone for only 30 euro when I traded in my old BROKEN one!). They also have to take them for free even if they don’t give a discount when you buy something new – say you buy a new tv, they have to take the old one if you don’t want it anymore here.
