How should I design my egg drop project for physics?

These projects are all about impulse momentum. Basically, impulse-momentum is the idea that for something with mass and velocity (momentum) to be stopped, a proportional force has to be applied over a time interval. mass*velocity=Force*time. The egg gains speed and momentum by falling. Now what you want to do is increase the amount of time of impact because this will decrease the amount of force the egg experiences. Think of the egg as a basketball player landing on the hard wood. Now it will kill his feet without good shoes to slow impact and cushion his fall by elongating impact. From my experience, triangles are strong but will cave if made of weak material (like straws). Building a straw truss system or lattice around the egg will prevent the egg from hitting pavement and “cushion” its impact. Google lattice or truss for some ideas and think up how to attach these to eggbert. They’ll make the design light weight and strong. Another direction is to make some sort of parachute with s
