How should I deal with space management? Do I need to set free lists and free list groups?
Manually setting free list groups is a complexity that is no longer required. We recommend using Automatic Segment Space Management rather than trying to manage space manually. Unless you are migrating from an earlier database version with OPS and have already built and tuned the necessary structures, Automatic Segment Space Management is the preferred approach. Automatic Segment Space Management is NOT the default, you need to set it.
