How should I conduct a final Interview with a student on placement?
A. Obviously every situation is different but there are some general rules to follow. Firstly, this interview gives you and your student an opportunity to reflect on the experience they have had with you and for an assessment to be completed. There should be no ‘surprises’ for either of you at this time. The student should have been made well aware of their progress throughout the placement. As far as materials to have at the assessment goes, you should refer to the document guidelines for the assessment process for mentors and students. This is kept within your learning resource (orange ) files in section two.
