How should I compare the Aerolite against other aircraft in the market, while determining which ultralight to buy?
Simple, be honest with yourself in what you expect in an aircraft, your piloting abilities and most importantly, compare apples to apples when choosing between aircraft. Do not buy an ultralight type aircraft with the intent of turning it into some high powered experimental aircraft that will take you places . You will surely be disappointed with the Aerolite or any ultralight if this is the type of aircraft you want. You had better have plenty of money, get a private certificate and check out the experimental market. If you enjoy that out in the open, wind in your face, freedom of flying low and slow, going no-where fast, able to land almost anywhere, all in an affordable package. “Well”, then flying ultralight type aircraft is probably for you.
