How should I code an administrative action when a student is not suspended, but is excused for the remainder of a day following an incident and prior to an investigation/hearing?
There are many ways to describe the removal of a student from a volatile setting following an incident. But whether Excused, Removed, or Suspended, if the student is not receiving services, there may be implications. We are recommending that all actions where the student is required to leave and is not provided services be coded as suspensions.
