My initial thoughts on thinking about the original question were “drop kick the little sod” but of course that isn’t the way to do it! I’ve had bad experiences with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Cairo is so defensive and wary of dogs now because he was attacked by a Lhasa Apso when he was a pup. This damned thing was just allowed to jump out of a car, run straight across a busy road and set in about Cairo – it immediately went for his throat – while his bouffanted owner stood there in her bloody stilletoes squealing “Bobby, Bobby, come back to mummy”. In that instance, it was my mum that was with Cairo and she just grabbed the Lhasa by the scruff of the neck and yanked it off – probably still not the right thing to do but it was instinctive. Of course because Cairo started barking back at it (after my mum had it off him), he was blamed as the instigator. That really pee’d me off.
