How should DRP test scores be interpreted?
DRP scores are reported to parents in DRP instructional units. Parent reports provide the following scores: • The child’s instructional level DRP score, • The national average DRP score for students tested at that grade level and time of year, and • The DRP score that indicates whether a student may benefit from additional support in reading. Scores range from 15- to 99+. The plus (+) and minus (-) signs are used to indicate that a student’s ability cannot be estimated precisely beyond these DRP values with the test form given. When a student gets everything correct on a DRP test form, the student will receive a score of 99+. A DRP score of 15- indicates the student is not able to read even the easiest prose passage in the test form given.
