How should a teacher discipline a 12, 13 year old?
A good teacher has control over the classroom and knows how to stand up to people when they are in the wrong. The teachers that my classmates and I have the most respect for are the ones who are able to deliver punishments and stick to them. Teachers who are easy to push around gain no respect and if they had any, the respect they get drops. I think this is true for people of any age. At 12 and 13, many students seem to think they are ‘better’ than everyone else. Well, that may be true for all ages, but still. Treat them fairly and do not have teacher’s pets. That will only divide the classroom. If you treat everyone in the same way and are consistent in your discipline, the chances of you being listened to are far greater. It might also be possible to tell them to stop what they are doing and talk with you after class. When you speak with them outside of class, explain the importance of learning and why it is not okay to act out the way they did. Don’t let them get off easy if they ar
