1. Hydraulic dock levellers in standard design cannot be used for loading and unloading small vehicles (vans) as the own weight of the dock leveller would overcharge the load capacity of the van. 2. Loading dock equipment should not be wider than 1250 mm. 3. The loading dock should be designed for vehicles with a restricted rear door opening radius of 180. 4. Dock shelters should not scratch vehicle surfaces. 5. Due to short loading and unloading times, the dock shelter should easily accommodate the small vehicles (vans) whereby the sealing effectiveness is of secondary importance. The next step to decide in favour of a loading dock specifically designed for small vehicles is to check all requirements and possibilities at your facility.
