How serious is the issue of Internet neutrality?
Right now, the USA is in control of the Internet. However, there are a number of nations in the UN that want the Internet turned over to the UN for supervision. At first, this sounds like a reasonable thing to do since the Internet “crosses” international borders and is world wide. However, the motive of these nations is self serving. They do not like the fact that the Internet has very few controls as to what people can say or post. They do not like the fact that their repressed peoples under their thumb can look up the Constitution of the USA and the Bill of Rights. They do not like the fact that via the Internet, people can say anything they want about their political leaders and say it to millions of other people. These nations want to get control of the Internet and shut down the various chat rooms. They want to put “political codes” on web pages, codes that will make it easier for them to prevent information they want to keep out from getting in. They also want to be able to “imp
