How serious is prostate cancer?
At least one in every seven Canadian men is expected to develop the disease in their lifetime, and more than one in four of those will die of it. It is the most common cancer in men, and the third most deadly form of cancer among males after lung cancer and colorectal cancer. Prostate cancer affects more than 100,000 Canadian families. Up to 20,500 Canadian men are newly diagnosed each year. More than 5,000,000 Canadian men are currently in their prostate cancer risk years.
