How serious is leptospirosis disease?
Leptospirosis is a severe and sometimes fatal disease. In infected animals, Leptospira bacteria typically attack the liver and kidneys resulting in organ damage and failure. Due to the difficulty in diagnosing this disease and the varying severity of clinical signs, these bacteria may infect dogs for some time before detection.
