A leaky heart valve is when a mitral valve does not funtion properly and blood cannot effeciently flow through the heart and body. This condition can cause a mitral valve prolapse which often presents systems of fatigue and shortness of breath. Left unchecked this leaking valve can lead to congestive heart failure or serious heart rhythm irregularies. If not treated could lead to death.
