How serious a problem is HIV and AIDS amongst African Communities in the UK?
It’s extremely serious. The African community are the second greatest ethnic group in the UK affected by HIV and AIDS. In Birmingham in particular, it’s a major concern. Thirty percent of the people with HIV and AIDS are from African backgrounds, even though African communities only make up one percent of the population here in the West Midlands.
