How sensitive are Ignitors motion detectors?
The Ignitor M1 employs a gold plated roller ball sensor for the detection of movement. If the ball moves, the alarm is triggered – Simple. Typically, moving or sitting on the bike will trigger the alarm. The gentle application of a rain cover for example, will not trigger the alarm. The Ignitor M1 will exhibit a similar level of sensitivity regardless of mounting orientation. Note however, that the Ignitor will experience more movement if mounted higher on the bike. The Ignitor M2 boasts the latest 16-bit, triple-axis, digital accelerometer from ST Microelectronics. Its sensitivity can be adjusted to your personal requirement via SMS from anywhere on the planet (subject to GSM coverage).
