How secure is Ethernet over millimeter wave wireless fiber?
Our financial and government customers currently transmit sensitive data over 1Velocity connections. At the physical layer, the wireless fiber signal is the thickness of a pencil. It is not broadcasted. And while fiber is susceptible to tapping, the 1Velocity NOC is immediately notified whenever the signal is interrupted for any reason. 1Velocity encrypts data using a proprietary algorithm as well as MAC Filtering at each relay point and an AES 256 encryption. 1Velocity uses 802.1q tunneling to separate your traffic from all other customer traffic.
