How secure are online backups with LokkBox?
Our product was designed around keeping your data secure. You specify an encryption key to encrypt all of your files before they’re transmitted to our servers and we have no knowledge of your encryption key. Your data is then compressed and transmitted over an encrypted 128-bit SSL channel. The encryption key you generate is the only means for decrypting your data. Unlike tapes, there is no physical media that could be stolen or damaged.
