How safe is the use of fly ash bricks for a house?

I don’t know what use you’re looking at for fly ash, but I’ve recently been studying it as a replacement for cement, partially or completely. Fly ash is a waste product from combustion and otherwise has to be disposed of, so this is considered a good use for fly ash. The fly ash is contained inside the brick. I’m also seeing it used for new “green” earth building techniques, such as adobe, rammed earth, and compressed bricks – in these cases, clay and sand would also be ingredients, and possibly straw. So far as I have seen, this use of fly ash is in its early stages of research. (I’m not sure that it can 100% replace cement, maybe only a portion – I think this is still being worked out) It’s good to be looking for alternatives to cement, because the production of cement is said to make up a substantial amount of the earths total Co2 production, one cause of global warming.
