How safe is the piercing procedure at Altered Evolution?

0

A. We perform all body piercings using an aseptic technique. We wear disposable nitrile gloves for all procedures and change them frequently to prevent contaminating the persons we are piercing and the surfaces of the piercing room. Piercing needles are individually packaged and autoclave sterilized. They are disposed of immediately after use into a biohazard sharps container. We NEVER reuse needles. Implements that are not disposable such as forceps, needle receiving tubes, ring opening/closing pliers, and insertion tapers are decontaminated, cleaned ultrasonically, and autoclave sterilized prior to each and every use. Jewelry is cleaned ultrasonically in a separate unit from the one used for tools. All pieces of jewelry are then individually packaged and sterilized prior to insertion into a fresh piercing. Jewelry that cannot withstand autoclave sterilization such as most acrylics and organic materials, is NEVER inserted into a new piercing.
