How safe is the Norwich Union to get my pension with?

I believe Annuity Contracts are fully protected (in UK) – and the Pension Fund itself is protected (i.e. not lost if the pension administrators go bust) HOWEVER the value of the Fund depends on the underlying investments. So I have no doubt that ALL Pensions Funds have dropped with the stock market (so you will be down by 20% or more) and any Fund that was heavily invested in Banks shares will be down by even more….
