How safe is the downtown San Jose area?
San Jose is ranked as the number one safest city in the United States with populations of 500,000 or more. Like any big city, we recommend the typical safety precautions such as traveling in numbers when possible, not staying out too late in the evening, and staying in areas where there are many people walking around. San Jose has several wonderful restaurants of all ethnicities and price ranges within walking distance of the competition site. Feel free to ask one of the competition members if you have any questions about where to go, or concerns of any kind. We want your stay here in our beautiful city to be a positive experience.
