How safe is Manuel Antonio & CasaTolteca?
Manuel Antonio is very safe. However, as with all tourist areas, you should always be careful with your belongings. CasaTolteca is even safer! CasaTolteca’s private property is gated (not a ‘gated community’ that constantly has construction trucks and construction workers in and out). There is also a 24 hour security guard just across the street. Most other houses in Manuel Antonio are not gated, and are located down dark and unprotected side roads. As always, the further you get from the main road, the more careful you should be with your valuables, especially at the beach and in Quepos.
