How safe is it?
When all safety rules are followed properly, shooting is one of the safest sports a person can participate in. Shooting is consistently listed as its safest sport by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). All junior students are supervised the entire time they are on the range by a team of trained adult coaches and range officers.
General aviation and those little airplanes as some may call them, are as safe as any other mode of travel, if not safer. Pilots and passengers do not use parachutes because airplanes and helicopters do not fall from the sky when the engine stops. An aircraft without an engine, even if its supposed to have one, is a glider capable of descending safely to a landing. If the engine quits, for example, it is typically because the pilot has allowed it to run out of fuel. In other words, flying is as safe as each individual chooses to make it. How to fly safely and deal with an extremely rare occurrence of an actual emergency is our top priority in your training.
All long-distance rallies come with some risk. We are ensuring we have a route that doesn’t go near any war-zones, or trouble spots, currently all the borders are open, overland bikers and expeditions are driving our route. We have three options for getting across the Sahara to the West Side of Africa, which means that until we have finalised the route survey, we can not announce the final plan just yet. Given the options, we are confident we can make it work.
Like all action sports (football, basketball, etc.) paintball can be dangerous unless adequate protection is worn and safety rules are understood and followed. Most paintball guns shoot .68 caliber (0.68 inch diameter) paintballs. A paintball is a pellet composed of a thin plastic shell, filled with a water-soluble vegetable-based dye. Paintball guns, often referred to as markers, shoot paintballs at a speed of 200 to 300 feet per second. To give you a better idea of the speed paintballs travel, 300 fps is about 205 miles per hour. Since paintballs are fairly light (only weighing a few grams each), they have little momentum while in flight, and thus are non-lethal. Paintball players must always wear protective goggles to protect their eyes, and usually wear masks covering the rest of their face as well. A paintball impact with the face can easily cause seriuos injury to the eyes and ears. Safety is highly stressed at most fields. Most fields require goggles be worn at all times unless
