How safe is El Salvador ?
Compared to many other countries in Latin America, El Salvador is a relatively safe country for personal security and is known for it warm hospitality to foreigners (especially tourists). But, petty crime does exist, especially in and around the major cities. However, serious crime against foreigners is relatively rare.
