How safe/dangerous is cesarian delivery?

0

You are wrong in saying that a caesarean section (CS) is safer than a normal delivery. Overall, a vaginal delivery is safer to mother and baby. Of course, in some circumstances it is the safest choice, hence why caesareans were originally performed. NICE guidelines (National Institute of Clinical Excellence-UK) provide national guidelines as to valid reasons for performing CS and to care before, during and following surgery. While they do not fully describe all risks they do give research based statistics on the incidence of fetal laceration as 2% (ie baby cut by scalpal), bladder injury (from scalpal)/baldder infection (from catheter).
