How safe are MINI Cooper cars?

MINI has a pretty good rating. They may be small but these are solid well-built cars (which is why they cost almost double some of the “entry-level” subcompacts you see out there. But don’t get it into your head that you can buy a totally safe car–this is simply not an achievable goal.
