How safe are German autobahns?
I have driven many miles on the autobahns and have always found them very safe.I have seen some bad pile ups but that was many years ago,and all were caused by people driving too fast.In recent years the autobahns seem much safer places to drive and are always kept in good condition and well marked=, with plenty of rest places.The east German autobahns were not as safe as the west but since the unification I believe they have improved.
