OK, that pretty well answers the question that I had about your last “queen of heaven” post. You *are* making digs at Catholics and generally behaving like the north end of a southbound Palomino. But to give more consideration to this question than it probably deserves, no one — least of all a Catholic — would deny that many Catholic holidays coincide with former pagan festivals. The difference between what Catholicism has done and what you are implying is that the Church has purified the pagan elements and turned them to the service of Christ, rather than merely incorporating them without change. A bucket of muddy river water isn’t very appetizing and is loaded with germs and filth. But when that same water is purified and cleansed of all its pollutants, it becomes healing and life-giving.
