Get it pierced with a needle, in a piercing place. If they use guns, go somewhere else. It isn’t risky. If you keep it clean it won’t get infected. It takes a few months to heal (varies for different people, mine too 6 months before it stopped swelling up) up to a year or more before you can leave it out.
