How reliable is CA125 test for ovarian cancer?
CA125 is not specific for ovarian cancer, but certainly one thing that must be checked for. You could even say that it is an important thing to test for, as the prognosis is better the earlier it is discovered. That being said, there are other possibilities. Anything that affects the lining of the abdominal cavity (peritoneum) can result in increased CA125. You mention that you have been suffering from lower abdominal pains and constipation. I´m speculating that it perhaps could be diverticular disease. It is understandable that you are worried, but try to focus on two things: 1) There are other possible diagnoses 2) If it turns out to be ovarian cancer, there are active treatment options.
