How relevant is religion in the 21st century?

0

After a century-and-a-half of ignoring religion, I think people are begining to realize the importance and benefits of religion. When everything seems to be going wrong in the world, religion seems like a good answer. Religion encourages to be peaceful, loving and to accept each other and get along, so if everyone was following such a religion, we could end war. Religion also teaches honesty, so if our politicians were deeply religious, we would have a better system of government. If everyone followed a good religion system, we could eliminate hate, gangs, violence, crime and a lot of other things. Religion gives people hope, so you see less depression and mental illness and more hapiness and self-esteem. Of course this is all just a pipe dream and it will probably never happen! There are so many people here on Answerbag that are against religion, so full of doubt and disbelief, if this is a representative sample of the rest of the world, we are doomed!
