How quickly can I set up a direct debit after opening my UK bank account?
You should be able to set up a direct debit as soon as you receive your 8 digit account number, 6 digit sort code and you banks address details. They will usually write to you with these or ask you to call into the bank in person so they can be handed to you. I have only just gone to open a bank account and do not yet know my bank account number, etc. Please call into the Accommodation Office to inform us. We will then complete an Application to delay Residence Fees form and agree with you an extended date by which you should set up your direct debit.
