How qualified are the psychology faculty?

A. There are four full-time faculty members in the psychology department. Each of us holds a doctorate in psychology and each of us specializes in a major area within psychology: Cognitive/Experimental, Physiological/Neuroscience, Social/Health and Clinical psychology. Altogether we cover the field well. We also have adjunct faculty from business and private practice who teach courses in their particular specializations, for example industrial and organizational psychology, human sexuality, and positive psychology. Even though we are highly trained in psychology, it is also important to remember that our main purpose as faculty members is to teach undergraduates. To that end, all of us focus much of our professional energies on becoming effective teachers. The psychology faculty have presented papers and workshops on teaching at professional conferences and have also received awards in recognition for their teaching.
