How prevent the bike-car crash to avoid fatal accidents?

Everyone operating any type of vehicle should respect others on the road and always observe traffic regulations. Driving is a privilege, and should be treated as such. The rules of the road were put in place to minimize accidents. If even one driver is not playing by the rules, there can be consequences to everyone on the road. If every motorist, and cyclist operated their vehicle with respect to others on the road, there would be a huge decline in traffic accidents. Turn down your radio, stop talking / TEXTING on your cell phone. Stop trying to hot-rod around town. Be courteous to other drivers. By doing this, you make the roadways more safe for everyone. In my town there is more of a problem with pedestrians stepping out into 6 lanes of traffic without even looking to see if it is safe. Pedestrians should cross only at crosswalks, and only when it is safe. Whatever happened to common sense?

1. Education for both cyclists and drivers. 2. Enforcement of existing laws for both. 3. Better bike lanes. 4. Avoid automatically blaming one side or the other and recognize that both have a right to be on the road. By the way, before someone says that cyclists don’t pay taxes, that is non-sense. I cycle about 3,000 miles per year and pay taxes (both directly and indirectly) just as everyone else does, including: gas taxes, income taxes, property taxes, sales taxes, mass transit fees, and motor vehicle fees. Portions of all of those taxes are used for roads and transportation infrastructure.

Education on both cars and motorcycle and the U.S. should adopt the same motorcycle test they use in Japan and other asian countries where you have to prove you can ride a larger size motorcycle before you have a license to ride one. And all owners of motorcycles currently on the road should be tested when their license is up for renewal. Car license should be on a graduated system where you really can not drive on your own till your 18. And below 18 and caught with a bunch of friends and no adult in the car or ANY kind of phone device or DVD player in front of the back seat are a automatic full suspension for two years. Also states should set up car checking places so when police officers see cars that handle funny can be sent so that stopping distance and turning radius can be checked if it is not stock crush the car or to dark of window tint crush the car. Than the accidents will come down. It is hard but it will take hard to correct the problem. ALso people over 65 should be retest
