How popular is Panama as a tourist destination?
Panama is increasingly popular as a travel destination. Numerous publications, from the New York Times and other major newspapers to specialized travel publications have recently praised Panama’s virtues, some predicting confidently it will be “the next Costa Rica.” The country’s first world health and transportation infrastructure have made it a “retirement haven.” And, in the past few months, there has been a significant increase in flights from the US and Europe. Panama hasn’t reached the level of tourism of its Costa Rica or Mexico, but with 20% more visitors every year, it’s well on the way to becoming a premium destination.
