How Police track down stolen mobile phone with using IMEI number?
u will be surprised that ur phone no. is not used at any point of the operator side.they use ur simcard number (the 20 digit no.) and IMEI no.every time u switch on ur phone,it will register itself with its IMEI no with ur phone number.the record is stored here.when ever u inform police about the stolen phone they simply file the IMEI no to the mobile operators(e.g: Airtel,Vodafone,Smart etc).the subscriber simply records that IMEI no to the track down record.whenever the stolen phone switch on and it simply tries itself to register on the subscriber’s network.even the sim is changed the IMEI no of the handset is remain same(it also cant be changed).that all for crack down the stolen case.the mobile operator can easily locate the position of the stolen phone by GPS(Global Positioning System).Thats all for police for crack down the case and the culprit is behind the bar..
