How physically demanding is Royal Australian Navy Recruit School at HMAS Cerberus?

Although physical training is part of life all over the ADF, the standards for the Navy are achievable and fairly easy compared to the other services (except for RAN Clearance Divers – they’re physical monsters). If you do a lot of training before you rock up, it’s not uncommon to actually lose some fitness while you’re over there. Afterall, the goal of recruit training is to teach you the skills required to be a sailor, not to make you fit. Maybe visit your local track and time yourself. If you can run 2.4km in under 11 minutes and can do at least 40 pushups, you’ll do well.
