How painful is the appendicitis pain?
Hiya, I’m just typing to say if you are worried you really should see a doctor – he would be the best person to know whether it is appendicitis. From my own experience of having appendicitis, I could put up with the pain for a while, and then it would go away for a month or so before coming back. Basically it didn’t feel very bad and thought I’d be laughed at for thinking PMS or gas was something more serious! When I did eventually to the hospital they found I had a ruptured appendix! The bad thing was that because I’d left it so long, I had to have proper surgery, rather than just key hole. I’m not trying to scare you, just saying that I’d always thought I’d know if I had appendicitis, but basically I didn’t when I did!! A few surprising symptoms which I experienced, but never for anything else are: when the doctor put pressure on my abdomen, it actually hurt more when he took his hand off (‘rebound pain’).
