How painful is it watching the old videos?
FLETCHER: It was painful very soon after we made them. When we started making videos it was when the video format started. So there wasn’t any rules. No one really knew what to do. They thought musicians should be actors and it’s quite obvious when you see those videos that we’re not. They’re quite funny to look back on and there’s lots of funny memories making them. SHOCKHOUND: You started your own label Toast Hawaii a while back and were working with a band called Client. Is that still happening? FLETCHER: I haven’t worked with Client for a while. The label, I had a year off and couldn’t really find an artist I could work with. I don’t really like working with an artist when I’m working with Depeche Mode. I feel like I should be giving them my full attention. But I did a bit of DJing in my year off.
