How old was Mary the mother of Jesus when Jesus was born?
She was fourteen when she married Joseph, so depending on if her birthday came before or after her Son was born 14 or 15 years old. Since the true followers of the Almighty do not celebrate birthdays and the fact that Mary was female and birth records of girls were not kept we do not know her exact birth date. EDIT: I thought I should mention since so many people seem to be upset by her young age. – The reason woman married so young is because they didn’t on the average live as long as men. A great deal of the time they died due to delivering their babies. The medical aspect of pregnancy wasn’t as developed as it is today. Many women hemorrhaged and died or developed staph infections and things to this nature while delievering or after.
