How Old Was Ian Curtis When He Killed Himself?
Ian Curtis was at the age of 23 when committed suicide. On the 18th of May, 1980 Ian Curtis was found dead in his apartment. It is said that he was fed up of his personal problems. He was also suffering from epilepsy; all this and a pending divorce case with his wife. He was driven to commit suicide in depression. After his death Ian Curtis was cremated and later his ashes were buried in Macclesfield. His wife Deborah Curtis engraved the words “Love will tear us apart” on the memorial stone of Ian Curtis; it was one of the most famous songs of Joy Division. On the 2nd of May, 1980 Birmingham University witnessed the last ever live performance by Ian Curtis. Some clips from that concert were released on the Joy Division called ‘Still’.
