How old is the Super Nintendo?
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System, known as the SNES, was released in November 1990 in Japan and early 1991 in North America. Its release sparked the first real console war between rival Sega and its Genesis system. After more than 700 games were released in the US, it remains as one of the most popular consoles in the country even with next generation consoles, such as the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii on the market. Many gamers still use their original SNES consoles or have restored systems to continue playing games from childhood.
