How old is The Laclede Group?
The Laclede Gas Light Company was created by a special act of the General Assembly of the State of Missouri in 1857. In 1950, the name of the company was changed to Laclede Gas Company. In January 2001, the shareholders of Laclede Gas Company approved the formation of a holding company and, effective October 1, 2001, The Laclede Group, Inc. became the holding company for Laclede Gas Company.
