How old does a westie have to be to breed ?
When she is 2 yrs old, been tested and cleared of all genetic problems in the breed, and when she has been shown and championed. The male westie you breed to should have all of the same as the above. If she is not show quality and an excellant example of the breed (and you won’t know unless you show her) then take her in to be spayed. BTW most breeders do NOT sell breeding dogs – so you have to have breeder’s permission to breed her.
