How old do you have to be to work at Zellers in Ontario, Canada?
According to the Ontario Ministry of Labour the minimum age a teen can work in a store is 14 years of age. Please Note: 14 , 15, 16 and 17-year olds may not be employed during school hours unless they are excused from school attendance under the Education Act. See R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 308, “Supervised Alternative Learning for Excused Pupils.” As for Zellers itself my daughter was 15 when she was hired to work in an Ontario Zellers as were two of her friends. Sometimes it may depend on the person who does the hiring for a particular Zellers store as opposed to a general hiring age rule. Sometimes it depends on whether you know someone who already works there and is willing to put in a “good’ word for you. If you have previous experience your chances improve regardless of age.
