How old do you have to be to drive a Land Rover Defender?
Age doesnt matter with a land rover as everyone else says, the classification means you only need a standard driving liscense and no special training. The only thing you should be concerned about is the cost of insuring yourself on a land rover. At such a young age and driving what I presume is a 110 from your description, with only basic driving skills i wouldnt be suprised if your insurance goes past £1500. I lived on a farm till I went to university, and frequently drove off-road with a local club. Aswell as that I took skid pan lessons at a local race course. Even with all that the insurance for my first (and only) car, a 1997 land rover defender 90 300tdi with just 3 seats up front was a little under £800. But if you like the car and know how to look after it, go for it. A landy can last you a lifetime and save you money long term. I do all my own repairs to it which saves alot in garage bills and I am currently converting it to biodiesel which will save even more.
